We’re thrilled to announce our fifth donation — £3,200 to Drama Expressions for Children.
Drama Expressions works with children and young people affected by trauma, poverty, and social disadvantage, using creative arts to help them find their voice, build confidence, and feel a sense of belonging.
What we funded with our £3,200 Donation
Our funding is supporting their Temper to Tempo programme — a therapeutic dance and creative movement project for 70 vulnerable children and young people.
Over the next six months, the programme will deliver weekly sessions combining:
Creative dance and movement
Music, rhythm and expression
Wellbeing and confidence-building activities
Peer support and group connection
Safe spaces for emotional expression
Designed for young people experiencing anxiety, trauma, and social isolation, the programme offers a powerful alternative to traditional support — allowing participants to express emotions in ways words sometimes can’t.
Why This Matters
Many of the young people involved face significant challenges — from trauma and instability to low confidence and isolation.
Projects like Temper to Tempo provide something truly special:
A safe space to feel and express emotions
Opportunities to build confidence and resilience
A chance to form friendships and feel part of something
Creative outlets that support healing and wellbeing
By funding this project, the Banner Foundation is helping young people rediscover confidence, connection, and joy.
A Word from Drama Expressions
“Temper to Tempo is more than just a catchy title. It’s a bold invitation to young people facing anxiety and emotional challenges to step into a new rhythm — one of expression, creativity, and hope.
Thanks to your support, we can now launch this trans
formative project that uses music, movement, and creative arts to help children process their emotions and channel their energy in positive ways.
Your grant means that young people — many of whom have experienced trauma or instability — will now be given the tools to feel, express, and heal.”
