Our fourth donation goes to Turning Corners, a Manchester-based organisation supporting families and young people experiencing mental illness, crisis, poverty, and social disadvantage.

We’re proud to award £2,250 to their innovative Vitamin Sea programme, a nature-based mental health initiative designed to support young people aged 11–18 who are living with treatment-resistant anxiety, depression, and related challenges.

What Our Donation is Funding

Our funding is supporting:

  • 27 outdoor wellbeing sessions delivered over six months

  • 24 young people aged 11–18

  • A unique blend of nature-based and therapeutic activities

The Vitamin Sea programme uses:

  • Mindfulness and breathwork

  • Journaling and reflective activities

  • Peer support and group discussions

  • Beach clean-ups, gentle physical activity, and nature restoration

By providing a calm, non-clinical environment, Turning Corners helps young people build resilience, develop healthy coping strategies, and reconnect with nature and community.

Why This Matters

Mental health challenges among young people continue to rise, with many struggling to find support that feels safe, accessible, and effective. The Vitamin Sea programme offers an alternative—one that goes beyond traditional therapy rooms and into the healing power of the outdoors.

Thanks to this project, young people can:

  • Reduce stress and anxiety

  • Build emotional resilience

  • Access supportive peer networks

  • Take meaningful time away from difficult home situations

  • Develop a sense of connection, confidence, and hope

This is more than a programme—it’s a lifeline for young people who need space to breathe, grow, and heal.

A Word from Turning Corners

“Vitamin Sea will provide young people with a safe space to manage stress, give young carers time away from heavy responsibilities, harness the healing power of nature and the outdoors, and build resilience through peer support and community.” - Pearl, Turning Corners
